William W. "Bill" Parke age 69 died Saturday August 25, 2018 at home. He was born October 24, 1948 in Binghamton, NY.

More than anything, Bill loved his family, sharing love and life with all his kids and grandkids. He loved learning, fixing, and creating. He enjoyed literature, language, humor, animals, and traveling the world. A gifted natural engineer, he could deal with the intricacies of any machine. When it came to cars and homes, there was no repair job too large. He was a skilled writer and painter. His special interest was old cars, both classic and race cars. He was proud to have served in the Navy during Vietnam and would greet fellow servicemen with a heartfelt "welcome home." Creating fast friends wherever he went, he was both a strong man and a gentle soul.

Survivors include his wife of 28 years Martha Hackett, sons: Steven Parke, Luke (Natalie) Parke, Harland (Marcella) Parke, stepchildren: Oscar (Meg) Hackett, and Eve (Robert) Garr, grandchildren: Cecilia, Lucy, Max, Sylvia, Sophia, Henry, Hayes, Ketch and Miller, siblings: Dan (Dottie) Parke, Connie (Paul) Walker, and Max Parke.

Preceding Bill in death are his mother: Joan Carpenter Parke, father: David J. Parke, and infant sister: Elizabeth "Buffy" Parke.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday August 31, 2018 at Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Service located at 8466 Mentor Ave, Mentor, OH 44060.
