Heaven gained another angel as our beloved Karen Anne King, age 61, of Mentor, lost her hard fought battle with cancer on Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at Hospice House in
Cleveland, Ohio, surrounded by family and friends. She was born on August 31, 1955 in Cleveland, Ohio. She was a Lake County resident her entire life.

Karen was a Senior Practice Manager at Ciber, Inc. headquartered in Greenwood Village, CO
and previously worked for Cleveland State University and the Perry Nuclear Power Plant.
Karen had the most wonderful, witty sense of humor. She lit up the room with her laughs and
jokes. She was independent, indulgent, generous, and kind. Her strength and courage was an
inspiration to many. Karen loved shopping, traveling, and dining out. She absolutely loved
Christmas and listening to Christmas and rap music. More than anything, Karen loved spending time with family and friends, especially her nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her mother, Beverly A. King, brothers Jeffrey King (Jacki), Mark King
(Sharyl), Steven King (Kelly) and her nieces and nephews Aaron, Ashley, Miles, Hannah, Seth,
Emily, Kaitlyn, and Alexis. She was preceded in death by her father, Gerald G. King, and her
grandparents Mary and Gerald Osborne, Gordon and Rosemary King and Helen and Neil
Rajala.

A celebration of life will be held at 8:30 pm Friday May 19, 2017 at Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060. The family will receive friends from 6:30 - 8:30 pm Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in her name be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, OH 44110 or to the Salvation Army, 69 Pearl St., Painesville, OH 44077.
