Jean A. Brueggeman, 76, a longtime Mentor resident, passed away November 30, 2017 at Hospice House in Cleveland. She was born March 4, 1941 in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

Jean owned Robert J. Colton accounting firm and also owned and operated Great Lakes Travel. She was a 2 term past president of the Mentor Chamber of Commerce and was one of the founding members of the Lake Erie Perch Fest. Jean loved to travel and spend time with her family. The Brueggeman family would like to thank the Visiting Angels, especially Bobbi, Nikki, Mattie, Tiffany, and Bev for the special care they gave Jean.

Survivors are her husband of 53 years, William "Bill" Brueggeman; grandchildren, Steven (Sunshine) Brueggeman, Jessica (James) Reed, and Jeremy Austin; great grandchildren, Autumn, Dominic, Ellie, Liz and Sophia; sister, Linda Rae (Mitchell) Powell; nephew, T.M. (Robin) Powell; and her cousins, Sandra (Ralph) Williams, Debbie (Larry) Cassidy, and Tina (Robert) Dickinson. She is also survived by many other loving family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her son, Christopher Brueggeman; parents, Milton and Katherine Garland; and her cousin, Donald Crawford.

The family will receive friends to honor Jean's life from 3-7 p.m. Thursday, December 7, 2017 at the Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Private family inurnment will be held at Mentor Cemetery at a later date.
