Dorothy H. (Fedak) Sewell McDonald, age 89 of Mentor for the past 23 years, formerly of Painesville and Fairport Harbor, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2017. She was born in Fairport Harbor on February 5, 1928 to John and Helen Fedak.

Dorothy worked at the Ohio Bureau of Employment Services for 20 years retiring in 1987. She also worked periodically in real estate. After retirement she enjoyed spending the winters in Florida.

Dorothy was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Mentor and a former member of St. Mary Church in Painesville. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fairport Harbor VFW.

Her greatest pleasure was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed bowling, playing cards with her weekly bridge group, going to the YMCA, riding her bike, walking, going to the casino and volunteering for the American Red Cross and the Bereavement group at St. Mary Church in Painesville.

Surviving Dorothy are her children Robert (Sandy) McDonald, Jr, Kathy (Bob) Roberti, David McDonald and Richard McDonald; grandchildren Jeffrey McDonald, Kaitlin (Nick) Wilson, Bobby Roberti, Ashley (Fiancé Cory Witt) Roberti, Kristen (Steve) Borelli and Ryan McDonald; great granddaughters Avery McDonald and Stella Borelli. Preceding her in death are her parents, husband of 62 years, Robert McDonald Sr.; first husband Delbert Sewell; son Don McDonald; step mother Mary Fedak; 7 siblings; 2 step siblings and dear friend Mabel P. Barbour.

Funeral mass will be held 11 am Friday June 9, 2017 at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 8560 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060. The family will receive friends from 9 am-11 am Friday at the church.

Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Painesville.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made in her memory to Crossroads Hospice, 9775 Rockside Rd., Suite 270, Valley View, OH 44125 or to a charity of your choice.
