Charles H. "Skip" Messina, 83, of Mentor since 1968, formerly of New Boro, PA passed away Saturday March 28, 2015 at his home with his family by his side. He was born November 27, 1931 in Millsboro, PA.

Charles was a manager of financial systems for various companies including the Price Administration in Washington DC, the Security and Exchange Commission in Washington DC, Western Electric in Cincinnati and Pittsburgh and the Eaton Corporation in Cleveland. A petty officer 2nd class in the U.S. Navy he was stationed in Washington DC, Germany and Maine during the Korean conflict. He attended Uniontown High School and graduated from Miami University with his BS degree in accounting and the University of Cincinnati with his MBA in management.

Charles was a member of St. Bede the Venerable Church, the Eaton Family credit union where he was chairman of the board from 1991-1998, the Orchard Hollow Elementary PTA where he was a charter board member, Alpha Kappa PSI accounting fraternity, the mentor senior golf league at Black Brook country club and the senior bowling league at Palisades.

Survivors are his wife Shirley A. Messina; his sons Dr. Matthew (Denise) Messina and John (Linda) Messina and his grandchildren Caitlin, Michael, Brian and Daniel. He was preceded in death by his parents Samuel and Fannie Messina and his brother Samuel.

Funeral mass will be held 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 9114 Lake Shore Blvd., Mentor, OH 44060 (Please meet at the church.)

The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m. Tuesday in the Chapel at St. Bede the Venerable Church.

Interment will be at Mentor Cemetery.
