Burnice V. Pristash, 96, a longtime Mentor resident, passed away February 10, 2018 at Starkey Place in Painesville. She was born February 7, 1922 on the family farm in North Dakota.

Burnice graduated from North Dakota State University, and was a registered pharmacist. After marriage, she became a homemaker. She was active in PTA, was a literacy tutor, volunteered for over 40 years with Lake Hospital Systems, was a member of Mentor Methodist Church for over 60 years, was a contributor to many charities, and loved to read.

After retirement, she and her husband Mike traveled, visiting almost every military aircraft museum in the eastern United States. Burnices' family would like to thank the wonderful people at Starkey Place for the care and compassion they gave Burnice over the past several years.

Survivors are her children, Naomi (Robert) Herrmann, Bob Pristash, and Linda (Don) Worley; grandchildren, Brian and Kristin; nieces, Rita, Jan, Ruthann and Violet; and nephews, David, Jonathan and Michael.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mike; son, Gene; parents, Walter and Louise Vollrath; and siblings, Esther, Ray, Roy, Earl and Leslie.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday February 14, 2018 at the Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060. Interment will be at Mentor Cemetery 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.
